THE STORY
The day I moved into my NYC apartment -- after 7 days of hectic apartment-hunting, cleaning up, moving in and setting up all my stuff -- the moment all of that was done, and I lay down on the bed, my bed, and looked out of the window at the famed Manhattan skyline -- this artwork attempts to capture the memory of that moment forever.
THE PROCESS
Hand-drawn, hand-carved, and hand-pulled, this work is a black-and-white variation of the coloured one (also in my shop).
It has been created with a single block of linoleum, and is a result of the reduction process. I have experimented with some fun new textures such as on the wall behind the bed and the pattern on the bedspread!
