Original artwork description:

My Intension, Sculpture by Alan Harris British artist. Expressionist sculpture inspired by the famous tale "The Red Shoes" which is a literary fairy tale by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. This sculpture recreates the story of the red shoes of a girl who once put on the red shoes, will become a slave to them. The piece is created using a real ballet shoe, resin, metal, copper, gold, and Oakwood. This is a totally unique piece as every part is unique on its own but the viewer will see a new interpretation of each piece put together by the artist. I created these sculptures by using broken or otherwise discarded objects, to give them new or continued life by reworking them as works of art. using Kintsukuroi, to not only repair but also to celebrate the initial damage with golden emphasis. My work was inspired by knowledge of this art, and a desire to preserve the past, like most of my figurative work.
