Even in my youth, I fell in love with the song of a talented contemporary composer to the verses of the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. Someone translated the poems into Russian. They sounded beautiful, in my opinion. And the content of the song fascinated me. I still love this song. It contains lines about a young beautiful mulatto woman with golden skin and silk hair. I wanted to imagine this young mulatto in the picture.
I like the faces of dark-skinned beauties—those who, in the opinion of a European, do not have the usual correctness of features. I don't know the roots of my love for African appearance. Perhaps my distant ancestors lived in Africa or, most likely, in Arabia. The strong contrast possibly attracts me.
