Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

Australian Ironbarks are an eucalypt tree (Eucalyptus sideroxylon) with a very distinctive dark coarse bark. It is this bark; its texture, pattern and colour that has inspired this series of paintings. This is not the typical gum tree traditional seen in many Australian landscapes. Ironbarks are tough trees that survive and thrive in a harsh landscape.
Partial 3D techniques have used to emphasis the characteristic texture of the Ironbark trunks.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint and mixed media
