Movement 1 (and 2) belong with a new body of work informed and inspired by road trips through Spain, France and Italy in 2014.
I often photograph the landscape on the move and love the way the colours and shapes blur and meld together like a Gerhard Richter painting.
These ceramic pieces (also see Movement 2 as these would work well hung together) are very textural. The suggestion of rock formation resonates through them as clay is compacted together further emphasizing a sense of movement.
They are presented in matt black frames, fixed on ivory board with an ivory mount.
