Artist's description:

After seeing an exhibition of photographs in the late 1800's this image of Mousehole harbour in Cornwall really encouraged me to try to capture the social history of the period.
I spent an enormous time drawing and inking in the composition of the mackerel boats drying their nets before reaching for the watercolours - mainly Sepia - which seems to complement this tough way to earn a living.

Materials used:

Winsor and Newton professional watercolours and ink on Arches rough paper
