Artist's description:

A family portrait if you will, a look into the modern privileged suburban family. A snapshot of our achievements, abilities and aspirations. happily painted on a large canvas. Perhaps in time we will look back and recognise the frivolity and the excess much like we do the French Rococo era (18th century) in particular "The Swing" by Jean-Honoré Fragonard. Painted of the french aristocracy prior to the French Revolution.

Or we can selectively be ignorant and enjoy the moment - the moment that a loving mother finally got her tomboy daughter to sit through a photoshoot - dressing up, donning make-up, striking a pose - making a memory.

My intention was to paint as expressive yet figurative. In this work in particular there is almost a cartoonish/pop art approach. I aim create as much information with as little paint as possible. Paint in some places as thick as thieves and in other places completely absent. A deconstruction of sorts; stripping the painting to its bare necessities.

This is an original, once off painting on a stretched cotton canvas. The canvas is stretched over a wooden frame. High quality natural pigment oil paints are used and the artwork is varnished to preserve color and protect from UV-light, dust and moisture. Edges are painted black and artwork is ready to hang. Framing is not included nor required.

Artwork is signed on the front and signed certificate of authenticity is provided.

Dimensions: 102 x 206 cm x 4 cm (40.15" x 81.10" x 1,5")

For shipment: Artwork is wrapped into several protective layers and placed into wooden crate for extra protection, will be delivered to your doorstep by courier service. Postage is insured, tracking number will be provided.

Kindly let me know if you have any further questions regarding the painting or the delivery process; I will be happy to answer you.
