hand-made etching of a crow in flight, about to land. Printed on very heavy 300gsm velvet surface Hahnemuhle etching paper. Printed using an etching press (one of those hand-cranked medieval style contraptions) from an etched metal printing plate. The press rolls the plate against damp paper using thousands of pounds of pressure to squeeze the ink into the paper. Each etching is unique: they vary slightly because the plates are inked by hand (Inking this plate takes about 20-30 minutes). The shape of the printing plate can be seen "stamped" into the paper.
300gsm Hahnemule paper, natural unbleached white. Etching ink. Linseed oil.
