A small study of a Scottish thatched Hebridean style croft house and small thatched byre outbuilding, with a washing line strung between them under a dramatic dark moonlight sky. Although this a fictional image it is based on the small whitewashed stone croft house of the west coast Scottish highlands and islands, often described as black houses, which are traditional thatched in reeds or Marram grass with rounded cornered walls and small windows.
Painted with a dramatic dark sky with a bright full moon using a unique textural technique that allows the underlying colours to show through the texture.

Painted using quality artists acrylics on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a gloss varnish finish and white wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
