I worked in two stages on this painting, initially for the lady, tree & moon I worked how I normally would sketching first & then transferring onto watercolour paper. Once this stage was complete & painted I worked on the ghostly moon spirits directly onto the paper with white gouache, I didn't make any prior sketches I just painted the different faces & figures I could see in the blobs of background paint, I love working like this as your not sure how the painting will turn out until the end & often the figures which appear take the painting in a whole different direction.
The work is already mounted ready for framing in a cream mount, outside mount measurement:
28.5 x 35.8 cm
140lb, 300g/m2 cold pressed watercolour paper
