A moody atmospheric Scottish moorland and and mountain landscape, with the golden sunlight shining on the moors with a touch of winter snow on the hills and a dramatic cloudy sky with a pinkish glow.
In this small study I have tried to convey the wild winter or late autumn atmosphere of the dramatic skies and changing weather of the highlands and islands and other wild areas of the British countryside in muted tones of grey, blue and yellow ochre.

Painted in a contemporary impressionist gestural style with a palette knife.

Painted using quality artists oils on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a gloss varnish finish and white wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
