I am often left with pieces of beautiful old papers that are so damaged or deteriorated that I'm not sure how long they would last as the ground for a larger painting. I usually salvage as much as I can for collages (eg My Heart Sings) but I decided this time to crop the music to save as much as possible and to create smaller, painted artworks. It's worked really well and was really enjoyable, I think there will be a lot more Minibirds!
My Minibirds are all painted on 19th Century Music Manuscript that was saved from a charity shop's bin. Larger pieces have been used for the Songbird paintings and the smaller bits I've saved are ideal for these Minibirds.
I've sourced a lovely chunky frame for the paintings so they are ideal, ready to hang presents.
Minibird 3 is a smaller version of the Robin I published in July, as you know I do like Robins!
