Artist's description:

My heritage lies in the Rhondda Valleys, an (ex) coal mining area of South Wales. This linocut is of a wonderful bronze statue of a miner and his family, erected between Llynwypia and Tonypandy to commemorate the many mining communities of the region. The piece was made by the sculptor Robert Thomas in 1993.

The baby is wrapped in a shawl 'Welsh fashion'.

The print, one of 25, is 15 x 20cm on a 20 x 30cm sheet of acid free paper.

Materials used:

Acid free paper, linseed ink
