The Millennium Bridge spans the River Thames by the Tate Modern. The footbridge gained notoriety when it was first opened due to an engineering flaw which caused it to bounce and wobble. Now the issue has been resolved and it's a peacful way to cross the Thames and see the city.
The picture is painted on watercolour paper. I create a pencil image and then go over all the lines with masking fluid before painting it with a watercolour wash which gets covered with clingfilm. Once this is removed the picture is further developed using acrylic inks which are left to dry before the masking is removed to reveal the final picture.
