Artist's description:

Alice: One can’t believe impossible things
The Queen: I daresay you haven’t had much practice…

I like how in this 2-lined dialogue displayed juxtaposition of the villain positive  thinking and the heroine in doubt. The Vortex was created having in mind the questioning and accepting as Alice was falling (or was she flying ?) into the unknown. The gentle twist of almost orderly lined up motion is somewhat fake. Paper planes never fly in the straight line. The trajectory is always uncertain and can change many times before the it reaches the destination. But just like the path to the Wonderland, the laws of physics, the common sense, need not to apply. The bigger message here, I felt, was generically personal: as we at times feel endlessly fallinh into the deep whole we long to reminded that when the bottom is reached the new exciting adventure begins. The directions of such adventure, just like the little paper guides here, are endless possibilities.
That’s why the end of the 'rabbit whole’ on this painting is warm, luminous and  inviting.

the painting is created applying multiple layers of watercolour directly onto primed cotton canvas. The layers have then been sealed with acrylic matte medium to prevent yellowing over time and protect fragile watrrcolour pigment.
