Original artwork description:

The imaginary that the world had of the Mexican was the charro on horseback, who conquers women with his song and drinks alcohol to drown his love sorrows. It was the way in which the Mexican leaders managed to create a national identity. The country would have been divided without this. There is a great diversity of Mexicans within Mexico, many pre-Hispanic cultures, many customs in a single country.

The charro only existed in the Jalisco region and the same thing happened with tequila. Apart from tequila, there is pulque, mezcal, Bacanora, Sotol, Charanda, raicilla... Few Mexicans have something of a charro like Jorge Negrete (character in the painting), and very few are good at singing. Although if we have something in common, if we take a drink of one of the drinks already mentioned, we give ourselves courage and try.

The painting was enhanced with the drip paint technique, with splashes, splashes and drips of color. Own style of post-impressionism.

Materials used:

Acrylic
