Merging…
I’m inspired by a compelling visual stories, intense contrast, brilliant colors, and the hand-of-man dance with nature. Transitional times of day (sunset, sunrise) and dramatic skies especially bring me joy. I’m constantly on the lookout for an inspiring combination of location and light.

On a late afternoon in Southern California, I’m speeding under a freeway exchange towards home. Suddenly, the sunset glows against the horizon. I have a split second to capture this gorgeous panorama….yellows, oranges and blues; lacy trees seemingly in motion; and that ramp…looking like a huge concrete lizard. Thank you, lucky timing!

My Artistic Inspiration…
I’m a cityscape oil painter passionate about intense color and deep contrast. My inspirations are the fluid light, dramatic vistas, quiet neighborhoods and stark landscapes of California and the Southwest. I paint with a vibrant palette and expressive brushstrokes to share my vision of an essence of the urban experience. I hope that the viewer will be inspired to see the world around them in a new light.
