Memory weaver is a project that explores my nostalgia and experiences growing up in India where the stereotypes associated with the ideal woman are still very strong. I use the form of the silkworm and moth to symbolize the metamorphosis of the woman subject, perhaps alluding to my transformation from a girl who had tried to fit into the tradition to a woman who feels confident exploring the gendered stereotypes that are so present in her culture from a critical perspective.
