Rooftops Melrose and Halsted is a larger work based on a smaller work done over one year ago. The smaller version of this scene was much looser in its appearance. I reworked it with some minor changes because I really liked the painting. I found this scene while doing some last minute Christmas shopping on the top floor of a parking garage in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago,
