Original artwork description:

A little different perhaps than you're used from me, but when I saw these remnants of a McDonald's meal I knew it would be perfect for a still life. In Dutch tradition I decided to add meaning to the painting by adding the term 'vanitas' to the title.

A vanitas is a symbolic work of art showing the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death, often contrasting symbols of wealth and symbols of ephemerality and death. To me that's what this still life is all about.

Materials used:

Acrylic on masonite
