We had a very cool April and lots of rain this spring and it made everything bloom like crazy, some things late and some thing searly, so I had the pleasure of tulips and corn flowers at the same time!
WHAT IS A LINOCUT?: A handprinted linocut reduction print, reduction means that as I am printing the very short edition of 8 prints, I cut away areas to keep the color I just printed. This is quite a complicated process, great fun, as you don't really know how the print is going to turn out until the end, it is a technique I enjoy very much, as it feels quite like you are painting with your linocut knife and your roller with ink. Experience has taught me incredibly much about this way of printing, managing the ink, using pressure, etc etc, given the choice this is my favorite way of printmaking!
You can join over 60.000 viewers on Youtube, to see how a reduction print is made and printed by me, go to www.youtube.com and search under my name or have a look in the "me at work" section in this shop.
All my lino prints are printed by me, printmaking is my big love!
I have used a range of beautiful non toxic blockprinting inks in happy quite bright colors to add a touch of happiness to any space you hang your linocut in.
