Artist's description:

History often portrays her as an inept and largely ineffective spy. Still you have to admire the courage and panache of a lady who had a suit tailor made for her execution by firing squad in 1917. A quaint touch: her dance costume in the photo covered her navel.

Materials used:

Oil paint with walnut medium, on stretched black primed canvas

Mata Hari, in Happier Days. (2015)
