Ultra feminine meets ultra masculine. A fictional night out when comtemporaries Marilyn Monroe and Tom of Finland's Navy men get caught by the paparazzi.
Part of a series of large monochrome Marilyn Meets Toms Men reimagines a meetings between fictional characters and iconic people who existed side by side in both popular and alternative culture.
Somewhat kitsch, this works is hugely detailed, and taps into both our obsession with iconism and the stories which often lay just beneath the surface. It considers the excesses of the ultra feminine and ultra masculine and challenges our views on the sanitised characters created for family consumption.
Hand drawn then digitally tweaked, my artworks are plot-cut and then assembled by hand, uniquely bridging a gap between tradition processes and digital art.
