This portrait of Marilyn Monroe shows the iconic movie star as she appeared when she sang Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square in New York City on May 19, 1962.
It turned out to be Marilyn's last public appearance. She died 4 months later on August 5, 1962 at age 36.
Just over 15 months later, President Kennedy was also dead. He was assassinated in Dallas Texas on November 22, 1963.
Today, 52 years after her death, Marilyn Monroe is more popular than ever.
