Portrait of a military man of the 1800's
Inspired by the work of artists of the period notably Sir Thomas Lawrence, I painted this picture with great bravado brush strokes and thick layers of impasto to great effect. The red coat is painted with creamy thick paint, the brilliant red is extremely pleasing to the eye.
When seen at the proper distance the whole work comes together to create a fantastic portrait.
