I was struck at first by the lovely light on the fishmongers face as I passed this fishmonger stall in Swansea Market.
Then I noticed the little boy, hand holding the glass, peering longingly into the stall counter, looking a the fish on the ice. The light from the ice illuminating his curious little face.
I thought is this boy the man's son? Will he grow up to be like his Dad, a fishmonger, man and boy. Or is he someone else's son; a painting then simply of a man and a boy.
Either way, I loved the dynamic, of the man protective of the boy, gazing on his fishmonger counter.
