This is a painting is part of a collection I'm making of butterflies, insects and skulls based on the subject of mortality. This particular painting is illustrating the concept of making something appear beautiful when it may not be, or because it wants or needs help to be. It's only our own personal concept of beauty that has any meaning to us at all.
I have painted this painting in acrylic paints on a sheet of primed fine canvas, it has then been mounted in a cream coloured mount, and framed with a black coloured wooden frame, glazed with glass. It has been fitted with picture wire and is ready to hang.
