Artwork description:

A 3 colour reduction limited edition linocut print on Japanese washi paper, including silver ink.

I'm prompted to make another series of prints, this time on the subject of recycling and our progressively wasteful societal ways. Despite all the warnings we seem to continue to purchase and dispose of 'stuff' at an alarming rate. Even I recall the days when it was deemed prudent to repair items or at least take care of things we bought. The phrase 'make do and mend' was coined during the Second World War where commodities of all kinds were naturally in small supply. Well, with our current economic climate, the situation might be seen as being similar and yet we still appear to be consuming and disposing of suspect materials at an alarming rate.

Materials used:

84 gsm Awagami Masa paper, Cranfield Safe Wash Relief inks
