Artist's description:

These buildings sit at the beginning of Main Street and have been there since the days of the gold rush. Murphys and Angels Camp were in the heart of the activity of the gold rush in the 1800's and still have a lot of history. These two buildings represent the beginning of the town and all it stood for during this time. Painting them made me feel like miners might pop out at any moment.

Materials used:

Canvas on board, premium oils

Main Street, Murphys (2004)
