LOVE IS HERE! is full symbolism, which I often use on my works. The yellow paper boat represents our journey through life and how fragile our life is. Love is Here! is all about of the love of a mother and child, but not any mother and child. Virgin Mary is my model of the perfect mom as she was not only Jesus' mother but also ours. The painting has a blush peach background to mimic those old walls in the colonial city of Cartagena, Colombia. For those who don't know me, Cartagena is my hometown, though I have been living in the USA for thirty plus years.

This piece is part of the collection STORY OF A WOMAN, a homage to women and their role in society and the family. They are moms, therapists, beautiful, hard workers, cooks, doctors, and many times without needing a degree. This series is all made with oils and collage that has been painted over to enhance the colors. They are all made on linen to ensure the best quality.
