“Love is a madman,
working his wild schemes, tearing off his clothes,
running through the mountains, drinking poison,
and now quietly choosing annihilation.”
A different take on my recent piece Fancy, taking it out of the bounds of a support for it to float freely as a wall sculpture. The madness is in the unpredictable, indeed uncontrollable patinas acquired by the copper while fired with a blowtorch, in vibrant contrast to the extreme precision of the laser-cutting and assembling. A joyful piece!
Laser-cut copper, fired, mounted on wood.
