Artist's description:

An open air landscape painted whilst walking from Pwllheli to llanbedrog. The beach cliff is in shape contrast to the open sea behind. The work attempts to evoke the mood of inner refection at the end of a walk in the open air, yet faced with a wall of vegetation invites the viewer to feelings of barriers, a metaphor for blocks to the openness of space.
Painting in an expressive gestural style with enhanced colour ranges, using a range of palette knife work and varied brush stroke work. The piece is painted with both large blocks of colour and realistic tonal changes to create depth.
