Lady and Lion, 2018, works as a constellation of imagery, layering like memories, accumulating like experiences, and coalescing like thoughts. The strong, defiant ‘lady’, smoking and looking up from her book or folio, stares outwards intently while the other symbols and abstract shapes swirl around her as if escaping her consciousness or floating off the pages which she holds. Emanating from her, there is analogue and digital, animal and fruit, symbolic and expressive; crossing over inferred time periods between the futuristic wireframe lion and her historic costume. The work indicates meaning without pre-formed narrative, signaling a fertile ground for new ideas to take shape.




*I can now provide this as an "Acrylic Print" which is a print on fine art paper and then mounted onto 1/8" acrylic (otherwise known as plexiglass). Mounting hardware is on the back making it ready to hang. This makes for a polished and modern piece of art that is durable and long lasting.
