Original artwork description:

A view of Lincoln in Linconshire from the impressive and spirit-filled memorial to the lost of Bomber Command in World War 2.

We live in a fractured and shattered world, a feeling that underlies much of my art. This painting re-interprets this beautiful and peaceful scene as if recreated in the crushed and broken glass that I use in my sculptural works, shattering the scene as if it were a mosaic of crushed glass. I love the response of glass to light: its sharpness and smoothness delights me. This mixed-media work (it includes drawn, photographed, digitised and painted elements) exploits these characteristics: it seems fractured and broken, yet alive with colour and life.

This original work is based on a sketch and photo taken by me, digitally manipulated and shattered, printed and painted on canvas. It's stretched on a frame, prepared and ready to hang. It's signed on the front and the back.

Materials used:

Digital, Acrylic paints and inks
