Original artwork description:

A bright day with a light Westerly as we left one of the UK's remotest island groups, St Kilda. A pair of gannets still follow the boat as we make our way towards the Sound of Harris and a landing in Lochmaddy in North Uist. I spent many summers during the 80's fishing crab and lobsters in these waters and have many fond memories of the enormous skies and the mountains of Harris as they appeared over the horizon.

Materials used:

oil on canvas
