Lazy Day by the Pool…
Relax by the pool at an historic Palm Springs, California resort. Palm trees sway in desert breezes, birds sing, water laps against the pool-sides—a tranquil, restful escape.

Imagine that you’re sitting next to me at this resort, lazing on a lounge chair with a good book and a cool drink. Palm trees eclipse the late-afternoon sun, throwing long shadows across us. A magical mixture of desert-hot and sky-pool cool. I snap a quick reference photo and am ready to interpret the scene in multiple layers of oil paint. I love the sun’s light diffused behind palms and the purple mountains. For me, the painting speaks of rejuvenating and refreshing quiet-time.

My Artistic Inspiration…
I’m a cityscape oil painter passionate about intense color and deep contrast. My inspirations are the fluid light, dramatic vistas, quiet neighborhoods and stark landscapes of California and the Southwest. I paint with a vibrant palette and expressive brushstrokes to share my vision of an essence of the urban experience. I hope that the viewer will be inspired to see the world around them in a new light.
