Artist's description:

A swathe of Echinacea's cone-headed flowers drowse in late September sunshine. Their varied colours are subdued and range from dusty pink/magenta petals through to deep orange cones and purplish grey of the dying heads. The colours look as if they have been on a long slow boil all season long, producing muted or condensed and syrupy versions of Summer's hues.
