The work depicts the so-called Arco Felice in at Cumae, in the Phlegraean Fields. The arch was built by the emperor Domitian. The painting is part of the series "Phlegrèus" composed of twenty to twenty works inspired by places of the Campi Flegrei, the land of fire. The large volcano that is located in the north of the city of Naples, protragonista of many historical events from Ancient Greece, the Romans, the Middle Ages, the Grand Tour
