This series of paintings is developed from a weekend walking and sketching in and around the Langdale Valley. From sketches and paintings of less well known areas to iconic views - this series seeks to capture something of the lush greenery to the open and inviting hidden pathways that meander among the hills. The impasto paint layered wet on wet in contrast to the flatter diluted paint of the background is to create depth and capture the effect of the hazy sunshine that pushed the Langdale Pikes to the distance.
This painting is complete with a beautifully handmade and hand finished white frame - which leads the eye right into the work. Signed by me on the front and reverse this painting is ready to hang.
