Just west of Llanymynech on the Welsh/Shropshire border: an ancient tree, observer of the ever-changing borderline.
As glass has been my material of choice for many years, this painting shows how I'd love to recreate this picture in cast glass, so here it's become a painting of a mosaic of crushed glass. I love the response of glass to light: its sharpness and smoothness delights me. This mixed-media work (it includes drawn, photographed, digitised and painted elements) exploits these characteristics: it seems fractured and broken, yet alive with colour and life.
This original work is painted on canvas, stretched on a frame, prepared and ready to hang. It's signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
