Original artwork description:

This is an oil and acrylic painting on Belgian Linen. It is the second in a series. I wanted to paint this landscape in a way that the viewer could look through the trees to discover the story of life on the other side of the lake. Unlike Lake Cabins 1, there is a single small cabin, unadorned and set in a quiet and remote location. I sometimes dream of getting away to a place where there is nothing else but nature.

In this scene I really wanted the viewer to experience the effect of looking at a scene from afar. Sort of like being there within the story but looking at it from a distance between the branches of trees.

I like the idea of being able to take a journey within a painting.
My work always takes me on an explorative adventure, allowing the painting to take me where it wants to go. In the end it becomes a destination and a place where I’m happy to spend time and just exist within the painting. It's then that I know the painting is finished.

The work is stretched on a wooden frame with a deep edge of 3cm.
The actual picture is continued around the side edges, so no need to frame if you don't wish to.
It has D hooks on the back, ready for hanging.

Materials used:

Oil & Acrylic on Linen. Stretched on deep edge gallery profile frame
