The Lady of the Lake, refers to Arthurian legend and Celtic culture. Water deities were extremely popular with the Celts as controlling the essence of life itself. The spontaneous movement of springs, rivers and lakes was seen to reveal the supernatural powers of the goddesses who lived in the waters and offerings at such aquatic features were commonplace. The practice continues today at wishing wells and the Lady of the Lake is remembered as "Lady Luck".
