A commission for a client. The brief was to paint her daughter (but not necessarily to recognise her) and we discussed the pre-Raphaelites and their manner of representation. We looked at Fredrich Leighton with a view to an Apricot/Orange floaty dress of 'Flaming June'.
I created the background In Leaf prints of very early small oak leaves. I used Teal and hints of burnt red to make this print and so it would correspond beautifully with the colour of the dress. The leaf print was designed to slightly show through the dress at its bottom layer and in reference to the Arts and Crafts Movement and William Morris' work.
The Client gave me wedding photos of her daughter to use as reference material.
Photos need to be about 2MB minimum for best commission results.
I and the Client are very pleased with the outcome I hope you will be too.
