To create Pop Art, you have to present something that has been seen before in a new way. A classic magazine cover is an arresting visual image that makes it perfectly suited to be a Pop Art subject.
This is another in a series of paintings I am creating in the neo-divisionist style. This method of painting allows for the application of color into a painting unrelated to the actual subject. It also takes a simple subject and allows for an energetic interpretation that goes far beyond the actual subject.
This work of art is acrylic paint on archival quality stretched canvas that is 22" in width, 28" in height, with a stretcher depth of 1.5" -- it is fully stretched, with no staples on the side. It is an original work of art, not a print or reproduction. It is sold unframed and is ready for a suitable framing of your choice. The sides of the painting are painted black for easy and immediate display. The painting is signed on the front by the artist. Please note that colors may vary slightly from the actual painting due to variations in my camera and your monitor. Painting is carefully shipped with postal insurance and includes a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist. This image is Copyright ©2015 by Randal Huiskens.
