Artist's description:

This art piece is inspired by the beautiful Cockatoo. I used to travel around remote areas of Australia for work and would often take photos of the unique variety of birds our great country has on display. The cockatoo would have to be one of my favourite birds as they are incredible to view both in flight and when still. I was torn between painting a yellow or black cockatoo, though decided I wanted a fresh yellow set of wings, given it’s Spring in Australia. I’ve been demonstrating more action and movement in my paintings lately as I want to express what it feels like to see life in motion- with emotion.

Please note that the yellows are more vibrant and diverse in colour in real life.

I’ve made up my own unique paint brushing effect to work in the charcoal, then let the emotions run free with expressive splashes and resin-like mixes of paint. Both processes are risky as once it is done, no erasing or painting over can happen. I like the risk involved as it's just like our everyday existence. This large piece is ready to hang and sealed with high quality fixatives. Shipped worldwide with insurance, love and care.
