Choosing to have a studio 'play day' resulted in this abstract painting. Starting with hot-press watercolor paper, I applied hot wax to create a resist. When the wax was dry I lightly spritzed the surface with water and then randomly added the acrylic inks. While the ink was still wet, I placed plastic wrap on the surface creating interesting textures. When the ink was dry and the plastic removed I added a few highlights and the painting was complete. I love the uncertainty of experimental painting and allowing the painting to evolve on its own.
