Using antique music manuscript as my paper ground I have created a little collection of angelic watercolour penguin artworks. The music dates from the 1800s and is wonderfully aged with soft yellowy buff tones .
The main photo shows the colour of the paper best, the close up shots look much greyer than in reality.
I have used watercolours and also a wash of an beautiful iridescent golden acrylic glaze over the angel wings. This adds another dimension to an otherwise simple painting as the glaze catches the light and changes colour depending where you stand. Difficult to capture in a photograph but I have included some close up detail shots which help.
Two reflective penguins, their symmetry echoing the composition of the music background.
I thought this painting worked best in a black mount, it will fit a 10" x 8" frame.
The painting will be presented in a clear, sealed artwork bag ready to gift (or to keep!)
