Glaciers washed up on the beach at Jökulsárlón Black Sand Beach, Iceland.

Part of a series of photographs taken during a week in Iceland exploring ice caves and glaciers.

This was taken on a brilliantly sunny afternoon in November, as the sun was setting. The nearby glacier lagoon at Jökulsárlón has a small outlet to the sea. Floating glacier chunks are pulled out by the tide and washed back up on the nearby beach of black volcanic sand.

Printed as an image 16"x12" with 2" white border. Total paper size 20"x16".
