Drawing based on sculpture of the same name in the Musee d'Orsay, Paris, my favourite art gallery in the world. The sculptor was Louis-Ernest Barrias (1841 – 1905) of the Beaux-Arts school. The marble sculpture depicts a young girl, sitting and spinning. I admire her beautiful face and gentle hands.
