Artist's description:

The calvary is an absolute classic, christian topic. On my St. Jacobˋs pilgrimage (until today a bit more than 1000km on foot from Hamburg to the French border) I saw many different examples, on hills or in churches. Most of them did impress me by the deep emotions that were transported, though the taltent of the artists sometimes was quite poor. Now I did realize my own version of the 14 stations - this here is Jesus' clothes are torn off (station 10). I found orientation by a classic version (oilpaintings from the 17th century) and did transfer them to a more modern, rough expression as unicolored linoprint. To soften the expression a little bit I did use a handmixed violet as colour and organic banana-paper as substrate, making every print (that was made without a press) even more unique.

Materials used:

bananapaper, waterbased color, linoleum

Jesus' clothes are torn off (1 OF 10 INDIVIDUAL, SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT HANDPRINTS) (2017)
